FileLink is primarily a Visioneer Paperport to Commence linking application. However, FileLink adds utility to Commence in three ways:
 | Use Visioneer PaperPort software with any TWAIN scanner or device to link images and documents to Commence |
| Right click on any file in Windows Explorer and use Windows Sendto to link images and documents to Commence |
| Use the included word processor macros for WordPerfect versions 6.1, 7.0, 8.0, and Word97 to link documents to Commence |
FileLink accepts files passed through the command line. Select from a list of all the
categories within your Commence database. After a category is selected, FileLink displays
a list of all data file fields within that category. Select a data field to log the file.
Press the Link button, FileLink adds an item in the specified category, filling the chosen
data file field with the name of the file.
FileLink Features:
| Specify a default directory for the placement of documents. |
| Automatically renames files based on file extensions so existing data is not overwritten. |
| Copy and Move options so documents may be relocated to common network directories. |
| Run Invisible option using default settings so documents may be scanned and inserted into Commence quickly and easily. |
Speedy document imaging using FileLink:
The combination of PaperPort Deluxe's ScanDirect software and the use of FileLink's
"Run invisible" feature significantly speeds document imaging and logging.
Simply insert a piece of paper in the PaperPort Scanner, and the Commence Item opens.
There are no intermediate steps.
